![]() This June, Amanda will be participating in the National Music Theater Conference (NMTC), a workshop held each year at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT. The National Music Theater Conference brings together several playwrights, lyricists, and composers endeavoring to create fresh and bold work from an array of music theater genres. During the Conference, the O’Neill provides artistic and administrative resources to explore the material with a staff of directors, musicians, and veteran Equity performers (including Amanda.) Since its inception in 1978, NMTC has developed well over 110 works, many of which have gone onto find great success on Broadway. Most recently in 2005, “In The Heights” was workshopped at NMTC and went on to win four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Amanda will be appearing in “LINTHEAD,” a new play by the Artery Playwrights Project, in Los Angeles from May 11th to June 3rd, 2012.
LINTHEAD tells the story of a South Carolina mill-worker who is forced to hurt everyone he loves in exchange for standing up for what is right. In a world of fire-and-brimstone sermons, travelling hoochie-coochie girls, and lungs full of cotton dust, LINTHEAD brings a voice to the discussion of civil rights, and reminds us that love and family are the only things worth fighting for. Make Reservations ONLINE or by PHONE! May 11th - June 3rd, 2012 Fridays & Saturdays ~ 8pm Sundays ~ 3:30pm https://www.plays411.net/newsite/show/play_info.asp?show_id=3090 |
