Amanda Jane Cooper is an actor and singer on screen and stage, most known for serving as the 15th Anniversary Glinda in WICKED on Broadway and as one of the show's longest running actors to ever play the role. Amanda grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She earned a BFA in Acting & Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University.

While at CMU, Amanda landed her first film role in “Smart People” starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Dennis Quaid. And then in “Homecoming", playing Mischa Barton's best friend.

After graduating, she made her New York theatre debut in BUNKED! A NEW MUSICAL at the Lucille Lortel Theatre followed by LETTER FROM ALGERIA at Abingdon Theatre Company.

Amanda was then tapped to star as Glinda in WICKED on the First National Tour in 2011, floating by bubble across the country and even performing for First Lady Michelle Obama at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

From there, Amanda moved to Los Angeles where she landed guest and recurring roles on the TV shows "Glee", "Bones", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Jessie" (Disney), "The Michaels" (Hallmark), "Selfie" (ABC), "Hello Ladies" (HBO) and more. Films include "Cavemen", "Sutures", "Days Like This" and more.  Amanda also wrote and starred in two original one-woman cabarets at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles.

Regionally she has starred as Kim MacAfee in Sacramento Music Circus' BYE BYE BIRDIE; Geraldine Barclay in WHAT THE BUTLER SAW at Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre; Jenny in LINTHEAD at The Santa Monica Playhouse; and Clotho in a workshop of Adam Gwon's STRING at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Connecticut.

In December of 2015, Amanda reprised her role as Glinda in the Second National Tour of WICKED for a run of 16 months. Her interpretation of the role garnered praise from critics around the country. DC Theatre Scene’s Steven McKnight wrote: “She has an enchanting stage presence and her comedic skills keep the audience in the palm of her hand. Cooper provokes laughs with every little facial expression, malapropism, squeal, and bouncing movement.  And her sweet and pure soprano voice is a joy to hear.”

Amanda made her Broadway debut starring as Glinda in WICKED on July 31st, 2017 at the Gershwin Theatre. Serving as the show's 15th Anniversary Glinda, she opened NBC's A VERY WICKED HALLOWEEN with "One Short Day" and closed the special with "For Good" alongside Kristin Chenoweth. You can see her as the face of the role in WICKED's new national commercials and billboards. Amanda took her final bow at the Gershwin Theatre on December 9th, 2018, and is now one of WICKED's longest running Glinda's in the history of the show.

Most recently you've seen her as Eve in ALIVE! A ZOMBIE MUSICAL at Signature Theatre; Emily in the tennis comedy film feature "First One In"; as a special guest on the closing night of Kristin Chenoweth's FOR THE GIRLS on Broadway; and as Sherry Wagner in the 22nd season of "Law & Order: SVU".

Her online comedy #TheBaeSeries keeps fans laughing, and her solo cabaret SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW, which debuted at 54 Below in NYC, invites the audience into a story of hope and redemption. Her I AM SECOND testimony film can be viewed here.

As a holiday surprise, Amanda released a rendition of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "Silent Night" produced by Vincent John + Maxwell Perla at Eraserhood Sound, on all platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes & Amazon Music. Amidst her various projects, Amanda also coaches private students in her online studio. She resides in New York City with her husband Andrew.
